Where Have I Been?

It’s been around a year since my last blog post, and if you’ve been following our ministry but don’t receive our prayer letters, you might be wondering why the long silence. I haven’t abandoned writing, nor has our passion for reaching souls in Italy grown cold. Quite the opposite. But life and ministry often pull us in directions that aren’t always visible from the outside.

Last May, I began working on a gospel tract that addresses one of the most difficult and universal questions people face: Where is God in suffering? It wasn’t something I could write quickly; it took about three months of reading, reflecting, praying, and revising. The problem of suffering is not just intellectual; it’s deeply personal. In the tract, I tried to point the reader to the deeper question: Can I trust God with my suffering? While the existence of suffering may seem to challenge belief in a loving God, the gospel shows that God is not distant or indifferent: He entered into our suffering through Christ.
More recently, we started a social media outreach that, while not the main focus of our ministry, has added a new layer of work that makes it harder to sit down and gather my thoughts for reflective writing. We’ve been producing full-length teaching videos for YouTube – which involves scripting, filming, editing, uploading, and writing descriptions – all of which takes a good deal of effort. In addition, I’ve been engaging with people through our short-form video content on various platforms. I don’t just post and move on… there’s an ongoing stream of interaction that often leads to real conversations. Some comments are sincere and thoughtful; others are openly hostile toward the faith. Still, I try to respond with patience and clarity, hoping that even a brief exchange might prompt someone to think more deeply about the claims of scripture… or at least take a step closer to the truth.

All of this, of course, is in addition to the usual rhythms of ministry: street evangelism, pastoral responsibilities, preaching in Italian each Sunday, midweek Bible studies, writing prayer letters, and striving to be present and faithful in my own home.
To be honest, I’ve sometimes wondered how many people actually read these posts. That’s not a complaint, just a question that naturally arises when there’s little to no feedback. But maybe someone out there is still reading; someone who prays for us, supports us, or simply wants to stay connected. If that’s you, thank you! And if you’ve ever wondered “Where have they been?”… now you know.
We are still here. Still serving. Still trusting the Lord. Still striving to win Italian souls for Christ!
As for this blog, yes, I still plan to post from time to time. Maybe it will be next month, maybe not until next year. But if and when you do happen to stop by again, Lord willing, there will be something new here waiting for you.
praying that your media outreach is a huge success. Great to know what you have been up to...sounds like you are busy about the Father's business for sure.
God bless,
Mary
